Professional Cleaning for Your Wicker Furniture
Your wicker furniture looks and feels even better than traditional wicker. Because your outdoor wicker furniture has been created from the finest and strongest imported synthetic material, it will keep it’s ‘like new’ appearance for years to come.
Unlike traditional wicker that will lose its shape, turn brittle with sun damage, or begin to fade or tear over time, your synthetic outdoor wicker furniture will not. Although it is sturdy, low maintenance, and created to last, of course there are times when you will want to clean your furniture. After all, with its fine craftsmanship and contemporary look, your outdoor furniture is most likely the main attraction on your patio, deck, or veranda. Here are some tips for cleaning and caring for your outdoor wicker furniture.
Cleaning Your Patio Wicker Furniture
• Remove the cushions – Most of our lines of patio furniture come with sturdy and comfortable cushions. They should be removed and cleaned separately, with different chemicals.
• Dirt and Debris – Once the cushions have been removed, it’s time to inspect your outdoor wicker furniture to determine the steps you should take. Small particles of debris, loose dirt, and dust can either be brushed away or you may choose to use your vacuum cleaner attachment. Your cushions can also be vacuumed, using the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner.
• Cleaning Solution – Since your patio wicker furniture is created with non-porous materials, it won’t absorb stains and it is not prone to the growth of mold or other bacteria. You shouldn’t have to use bleach or any bacteria killing solutions when cleaning. Instead, mix a solution of warm, soapy water by filling an outdoor bucket with water while adding a couple of tablespoons of ordinary dish soap.
• Easy Cleaning Process - Using a clean cloth or an outdoor sponge, you will be able to quickly clean your outdoor wicker furniture by dipping the sponge in the soapy solution and running it over the wicker. For hard to reach crevices you can use an old toothbrush.
• Rinsing – Your furniture should now be clean and ready to rinse. The soapy water will easily rinse away by using an ordinary garden hose.
• Drying – You can either allow your outdoor wicker furniture to air dry naturally or you may choose to use a clean towel. Be careful not to place your cushions back on the furniture until after the wicker has dried completely.
That’s all there is to it! Your cushions can be returned to your furniture and you are ready to once again enjoy the elegance and beauty of your outdoor wicker furniture.
Note: Your cushions can be cleaned by spot removing with a small amount of soapy water or a light detergent that is color safe for fabrics. To retain the beauty and protect your cushions from the elements, you may want to take a look at our outdoor storage benches. They are constructed from the same, sturdy synthetic material and are built to commercial grade standards. Outdoor storage benches provide the best solution when protecting your cushions and keeping them looking like new.
